The Hills at Firewheel
The Hills is a quiet, stable, family neighborhood of 234 well-cared for homes with friendly residents. An attractive pond with fountains and a waterfall at the edge of the neighborhood, plus a swimming pool and clubhouse, are popular amenities that add to the quality of life.
Situated on gentle rolling terrain, the Hills is located across from the attractive Firewheel Golf Park, which not only provides a quiet-zone buffer but also serves as a nature preserve with two creeks and an abundant variety of trees and wildlife. The Hills was constructed from about late1999 to early 2004.

Location
The Hills is on the northern edge of the City of Garland at Campbell Road and Garland Road slightly north of the George Bush Tollway. All streets in the Hills are located in DallasCounty, with the exception of Green Apple, which is located in CollinCounty.
Although the Hills is in a secluded residential area, it is just a few minutes from many excellent restaurants, Target and WalMart, and the beautiful, new,open-air Firewheel Town Center mall and surrounding shopping areas. There is no drive-through traffic in the Hills because there are no through streets, and the neighborhood is located right across the street from Firewheel Golf Park.

Residents
The Hills residents are friendly people who make excellent neighbors. Residents include: Technology industry professionals, business owners, bankers and mortgage
brokers, school teachers, City staff, engineers, real estate agents, operations managers, lawyers, tradesmen, and at least one dentist and one geologist. Residents range in age from families with young children to retirees.

Events
Early in the summer, the Association hosts a Splash Night to celebrate the opening of the pool season. Many mothers with young children also participate in the Firewheel Mom’s Club. Plus, many Hills residents regularly enjoy the annual Firewheel Spring Festival and Egg Hunt, held at the driving range. Most years, the Hills has also been actively hosting a National Night Out for residents to enjoy and meet their neighbors.
The Homeowners Association
The Hills HOA believes the organization is there to serve residents, not the other way around. The HOA is active in encouraging a sense of community, keeping residents informed, improving the common areas, and maintaining neighborhood standards. To make the Hills a better place to live, participation in the neighborhood is encouraged of all residents. The HOA also sponsors Lawns-of-the-Month awards, Holiday Decorations recognition, and a special Summit Award for outstanding residents who give-back to the neighborhood.
Schools
Garland ISD is one of the few school districts in Texas that offer a choice of schools option. Parents can apply for any school in the district to take advantage of special programs or desired geographic location. For many of the magnet schools and academies, bus service extends to any neighborhood (including the Hills). Green Apple, the northernmost street in the Hills is served by Plano ISD.
